SOC-TV stands for Street of Cards TV. It got it's name from the fact that the street of Colon Michigan during the Abbott's Magic Get together ends up covered with playing cards by the end of their magic week.
It's a magic TV channel with a chat room. And on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights (9pm pacific) it's actually a live feed with shows, interviews and magic clubs. It's great because you can actually talk to the people you are watching in real time because they can also see the chat room. Give it a try.
Go to streetofcards.tv to see it in a larger screen. If the "On Air" above is red that means it's live and you can actually interact with the people you see in the video.
Close-up (cards/coins/other), Parlor Magic (magic for audiences larger than close-up and smaller than audiences for stage magic), Stage Magic (large magic / illusions performed on stage for larger audiences) - famous magicians include David Copperfield / Lance Burton, Street Magic (magic typically performed close-up for random people on the street or other public place)
About Me:
Entertaining has always been a part of Ron's life, as well as profound hearing impairment. As a child he was the willing mime and drama rehearsal partner for his older sister. His early interest in magic blossomed into a true passion during a chance visit to his first magic shop in California. Since then, his phenomenal skill in magic and entertaining has earned him the local nickname of "Magic Man". He's the winner of the 1999 Curly's Magic competition at the Abbott's Magic get together in Colon Michigan. A town commonly known as "The Magic Capital of the World". His style of visually stunning magic combined with mad capped comedy has earned him the well deserved reputation of one of the areas leading magicians. A well respected magician among Magicians Jay Marshell summed it up after Ron won the Curly's competition when he said
"Yea, He's got it!"
Above is from the cover of my magic brochure. It was written by Nancy Krone.
Since the above was written. Ron has also won first place in the 2002 Michigan Magic Day Close up contest, first place in 2004 Percy Abbotts Peoples choice in both close up and stage at the Abbotts Magic get together and Second place in 2004 Curly's Close up contest.
I was born and raised in Kalamazoo Michigan. I'm blessed with being the next to the youngest of 5 siblings (3 brothers and 1 sister). The reason I say I'm blessed is because I couldn't have asked for a better family to grow up with. My mother Julane and my father Mitchell (Harve) are great loving parents who where always there to help us if and when ever we had a problem. For some reason, my sister April and I both have profound hearing impairment. As a child I was profoundly hearing impaired but as I'm getting older, my hearing is decreasing to the point of deafness. I can't honestly say that my hearing difference isn't sometimes annoying, but for the most part it's easily dealt with because of my good fortune of having great friends and family in my life.
I think it's partly because of my hearing difference that I have so many hobbies. I've always had this inner drive to do things to proove to myself, and others, that I wasn't broken. So when ever I'm was faced with something I'm not suppose to be able to do because of my hearing difference, I have an overwhelming desire to accomplish those things.
Some of my hobbies are playing pool (Billiards), Bowling (My average is about 175 now), karaoke, spending time with people, Art (Drawing painting), Reading, Juggling, Wood working, animals/pets, playing the guitar and the saxophone, fishing, comedy, then the biggest (Hobie) in my life, Magic.
When I was 17, one of my older brothers passed away. While we where in California for a memorial service for my brother given by the Air Force, I found my first magic shop there. I've been doing magic every since and I'm now a professional magician and have won some magic competitions. I feel that this is one of my biggest accomplishments in my life as far as profession goes. I still thank my brother Paul for me finding magic. I know in my heart that he had something to do with me finding that magic shop. - Thank you Paul

I've had so many bad experiences with reels. I have to admit, I love the effects I saw. Believing in the methods is a whole different thing. What more can you say?

As for retrieving the wax. Obviously that depends on what hook up you are using but I'm assuming that you rig the end to something in front of you like a table or chair. If this is the case then a good way to retrieve it is by resting your hand on t…
Does anyone have any suggestions on a couple things. First off When working with the thread and the wax I have trouble finding a good subtle way of retreiving the wax. Plus since I use a spider pen I also need to turn it on. Two movements that can b…

Glad you could make it. I hope you enjoy your time here at Club Magicians.
By the way, I met a young inspiring magician the other day who is deaf. Would you be interested in talking him through some of the battles he will face?
I just thought I'd share this with all my magic friends.
