There are lots of stage effects out there for photo ops. Mike Bent's Big Bag o Bunny shown in Mark's post works, along with Bob's suggestion for the rabbit wand. I use Creative Magic's Bigger wands where the birthday child is holding a seven foot wand at the end. If you produce any sort of jumbo prop that can work as a photo op. Even having the birthday child holding some jumbo cards. Multiplying wands is another one I've done. This doesn't have to be a posed photo at the end of the show. It can be during your show, you just have to let the parents know ahead of time when you are doing it and what to look for so they are ready to take photos.
Laflin recently put out a set of four headless silks. Circus ones. They are $70.00 to $75.00 a set and you might want to look into them. Now that I saw it with a real kid I've got to get one as soon as I can. Thanks for posting the picture!
Make sure the cake and ice cream is served AFTER your show. It not only helps you avoid a sticky mess on your props, it also insures the kids disappear when you're done, instead of hanging around and handling your stuff.
Thanks Vynn. I just did a 40th birthday party and decided to do my cut and restored rope as a close up item. I have never had such a strong reaction to that trick in 30 years ... one of the guests kept following me around to watch the rope trick.
